How it works
Enter two fractions, pick an operation, and see the answer reduced to its lowest terms — plus the decimal and percentage equivalents. There is also a decimal-to-fraction converter underneath for going the other way.
Example: 1/2 + 3/4 = 5/4, which is 1 1/4 as a mixed number, 1.25 as a decimal and 125%.
Questions people ask
How do I add fractions with different denominators?
Give them a common denominator first — multiply each fraction by the other's denominator — then add the numerators and simplify. The calculator shows which common denominator it used.
How do I simplify a fraction?
Divide the numerator and denominator by their greatest common divisor. For 18/24 that divisor is 6, giving 3/4.
How do I turn a decimal into a fraction?
Use the second panel. It finds the simplest fraction that matches your decimal closely, so 0.375 becomes 3/8 rather than 375/1000.
