How it works

Tap a preset or type your own percentage. The tip, the grand total and the amount per person all update as you go.

Tip = Bill × (Tip% ÷ 100) Per person = (Bill + Tip) ÷ People

Example: A 640 bill with an 18% tip is 755.20 in total, or 251.73 each between three people.

Questions people ask

How much should I tip?

It depends on the country. 15–20% is normal in the United States, 10% is generous in much of Europe, and tipping is uncommon in Japan.

Should I tip on the pre-tax amount?

Either is accepted. Tipping on the pre-tax subtotal is slightly cheaper and perfectly polite — just enter that figure as the bill.

What if a service charge is already included?

Then an extra tip is optional. Set the tip to 0% to see the plain per-person split.
